  • What is the timeline for a typical project?
TeamMechanics can deliver both assessments and customized training with in as little as two weeks. We have found that three weeks’ notice (or more) is preferable to reduce strain on sponsor and participants. The simple project plan is as follows: Week 1: client sponsor gathers names and email addresses for participants, and notifies them of the assessment and scheduled training date. Week 2: participants receive the assessment and are asked to set aside 15-20 minutes of uninterrupted time to complete it. Week 3: TeamMechanics reviews all assessments and finalizes training materials and handouts and prepares for the session. Training Day: TeamMechanics conducts training, as scheduled (virtually or in-person) Post-Training: TeamMechanics summarizes session work product, if applicable, and delivers the summary to the client.
  • What advice would we give customers looking to hire a team building consultant?
Before you hire a team building consultant, first consider your needs and your desired outcomes. Articulating the result you want to achieve is key to a successful solution. In addition, there should be actionable outcomes for each participant and not a few hours of “nice to know.” Ask about action plans and strategies that will come from the session, and ideas for reinforcement post-session. Consider whether the solution is a good investment and provides the results you deserve.
  • What questions should customers think through before talking to a professional about their project?
We recommend asking questions that include: What is the timeline and cost for this project? What experience do you have in my industry with a similar team? What results do you typically deliver to a group like ours? How can I be sure this will address my needs and/or goals? Given our needs, why are you recommending the solutions you proposed? What support can I expect from you before and during this project? What kind of support and how much support will you provide after the project is finished?
